FAQ

Humane wildlife removal in Greater Fairfield, Litchfield & New Haven Counties

Having a nuisance animal of any kind or number can throw your entire life into upheaval. The last thing you need is to hire a company whose skill or reputation is a big gray area. At American Bio-Tech Wildlife Services, we lay it all out for you in black and white. Below is a list of the questions we get asked most about our services. If you don't see your question answered, please call us!

What towns does your company service?

American Bio-Tech Wildlife Services provides humane animal removal service to Litchfield and Fairfield County and several towns in New Haven County. If your problem is bat related, we will go anywhere in the State of Connecticut. For a complete list, see our Towns We Service page.

What types of animals/pests does your company handle?

American Bio-Tech Wildlife Services safely and humanely removes bats, woodchucks, squirrels, skunks and raccoons. For insect control, we recommend longtime associate, AmTech. AmTech Personalized Pest Management has been servicing Western Connecticut for over 20 years.

Do you guarantee/warranty your work?

Absolutely! However, the warranty for exclusion work varies depending on the animal(s) involved. Most exclusion work, including any bat related work, is backed by a 20 year warranty. American Bio-Tech Wildlife Services has 39 years of references and testimonials for our service and workmanship. We will be happy to provide them on request.

Is your company licensed and insured?

That's affirmative. American Bio-Tech Wildlife Services is licensed as a Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator in the State of Connecticut by the DEEP. Our company is fully insured and a certificate of proof of insurance and workman’s compensation will be provided upon request.

Do you handle all repairs or do I need to call in other contractors for that?

With American Bio-Tech Wildlife Services, one call is all it takes to remove your problem wildlife, and repair the damage done. Our contractors deliver high quality workmanship with quick turn around, and all work is guaranteed.

Should I try to solve the problem myself first?

It depends. Some animal infestation issues may be handled by a property owner easily enough, but many problems with wild animals should ONLY be handled by a professional. Besides, it is against the law for an unlicensed person to have contact with a wild animal. When in doubt, check it out. Give us a call. We'll be happy to let you know if your situation is a “do-it-yourself” one.

What's the harm of letting the problem go unchecked?

Plenty. Wild animals can be dangerous and carry disease. Never touch any wild animal if it can be avoided. It is illegal in the State of Connecticut for anyone other than a state appointed animal rehabilitator to care for wildlife. If in doubt, call us at 860.355.1231 for more information.

What happens to the animals once they are caught?

American Bio-Tech Wildlife Services prides itself on being a humane (catch and release) animal exclusion specialist. Animals that are removed from your home are brought to DEEP designated state forests where the animals are released into a normal habitat to live out their circle of life. We are sad to say that some animals are required to be euthanized, for both our health and theirs, but only if all other alternatives have been considered.

Are any of the damages covered by my homeowner's insurance?

In many cases, yes. American Bio-Tech Wildlife Services has experience working with many insurance companies. We know that insurance coverage can vary greatly from company to company, but we will work with your provider to get you the best possible settlement. Our participation in the claim process minimizes your stress in dealing with your insurance company, and often saves you time and money.
